2251V AVR is a microcontroller based automatic voltage regulating relay. It is used to regulate the voltage of the transformer with a motor driven on load tap changer (OLTC). The voltage & current input to the AVR is derived from the station bus PT & CT. A “Raise “or “Lower” control signal is generated automatically by the voltage regulator, When the measured voltage deviates from preset condition or out of bandwidth. A “Raise “or “Lower” control signal is generated with the time interval from 10 to120 Second, which is configurable in the front panel. If the measured voltage is decreased to 80% of nominal value, then AVR will be blocked automatically. The AVR will be restored, when the measured voltage increases to 85% of nominal value. When the AVR is not returning to the bandwidth for defined time from 300 to 999 seconds, then AVR will be blocked automatically. In case compensation for load voltage drops is called for, the details of the line R and X values are necessary to be inputted to the AVR for determining the compensation duly considering the magnitude and phase angle of the load current. The compensation can be assigned a positive or negative value as appropriate for the power system. It has MODBUS RS485 RTU protocol for remote connection.
