Sieyuan Toshiba’s 500kV naturalester oil single-phase autotransformer has successfully passed the full-process joint type test witnessed by domestic authoritative institutions and international STL at the first attempt. The test concluded with complete success. All technical and performance indicators of the product comply with design criteria and reach the advanced level of the industry, marking a significant technological breakthrough for China in the field of ultra-high voltage eco-friendly power transformers.


Natural ester oil (vegetable oil) transformers serve as core equipment for delivering the Dual Carbon goals and facilitating the green and low-carbon transformation of power grids. They play a vital role in improving the performance of UHV power grid equipment and enhancing safety and reliability in high-risk operating scenarios, and have become a mainstream development direction for UHV eco-friendly transformers at present. On the basis of the proven 500kV transformer prototype with standard capacity for State Grid, we completed optimization, iteration and technical upgrading. The prototype was developed on schedule and passed all test assessments smoothly.


The acquisition of the official type test report for the 500kV natural ester oil transformer has further consolidated our technological expertise and brand strength in the power equipment industry. It lays a solid foundation for expanding the market of a full range of eco-friendly transformers and further exploring the UHV business sector. Meanwhile, it also makes an important contribution to the green upgrading of domestic power grids and the high-quality development of the energy equipment industry.
