QUAD Transformer Protection Relay
- Oil Temperature Indicator: Features a bimetallic thermometer with a temperature scale range of 20°C to 140°C, adjustable min/max changeover contacts (20°C to 120°C), a resettable maximum temperature indicator, and changeover contact ratings of 5A @ 250V AC or 0.25A @ 220V DC.
- Oil Level Indicator & Gas Formation: Detects gas formation and float levels (min/max) using a reed changeover contact that operates between 120 to 190 cc. Contact rating is 1A @ 400V AC / 1A @ 400V DC.
- Pressure Detection: Utilizes a Viton membrane with an adjustable range of 10–50 kPa (in 10 kPa steps; max 50 kPa) and a contact rating of 5A @ 240V AC or 5A @ 30V DC.
- Oil Sampling & Venting: Includes a 1/8" ball valve for gas collection, air venting, and oil sampling.
- Degree of Protection: IP 55 (EN 60529).
- Shock Resistance: IK 07 (EN 50102).
- Operating Temperature: -30°C to +120°C.
- Media Resistance: Mineral oil, synthetic, and organic esters.
- Cable Gland & Wire: M25x1.5 cable gland and 1.5–2.5 sq mm wire section. View dome is made of UV-resistant PC.
- Temperature Switches: Remove thermometer cover, loosen knurled nuts, and move limit switches by hand over the indicator position to check mechanical switching.
- Reed Switch (Oil Level/Gas): Move a rod magnet near the earthing symbol or apply pressure via the ball valve until the oil level drops.
- Pressure Switch: Set the minimum pressure value to 10 kPa and connect an air pump to the ball valve to apply pressure >10 kPa until actuation.
- Options include alternative switch configurations, black/white dial colors, brass/polyamide cable glands, plug-and-socket electrical connections (IP 65), metal or polyamide enclosures, and screw-type terminals.
- Type tests include an oil leakage test (100 kPa with oil at 90°C for 12 hours), operation simulations, gas/liquid volume determinations, 5° verticality inclination tests, and high-pressure tests (250 kPa for 2 minutes under 115°C oil).
