Tap Position Transmitters (TPT)
Tap Position Transmitter (TPT) is an auxiliary device used in power transformers equipped with an On-Load Tap Changer (OLTC). It converts the mechanical tap position of the tap changer into a standardized 4-20 mA analog signal, enabling accurate remote monitoring of the tap position. This signal can be interfaced with control and monitoring systems such as SCADA, RTUs, and digital protection relays, ensuring reliable indication and integration with substation automation systems.
