Equipment lead times stalling Europe's grid expansion
Europe's grid expansion is stalled less by permits or money than by equipment: transformers and switchgear are quoted with multi-year lead times. This presentation introduces an underused alternative — Korea's power T&D industry, forged by KEPCO and proven in over 80 countries, offering transformers up to 765 kV, switchgear up to 420 kV with an SF₆-free roadmap, and cables up to 400 kV, all KEMA/STL type-tested. Bryan Hyunho Cho, founder of H&J solutions (Graz), explains how European utilities, EPCs and developers can source directly from qualified Korean manufacturers
