Essex Solutions Presentation

The present work reviews the technological advancements implemented by Essex Solutions Italy to enhance the reliability, quality, and sustainability of Continuously Transposed Conductors (CTC) for power transformer applications. The company has strengthened process performance through the deployment of advanced inline monitoring technologies across drawing, enameling, and CTC assembly operations. Real-time dimensional control, high-voltage continuity testing, epoxy flow monitoring, spark testing, eddy-current inspection, and AI-based vision systems enable the early detection of process deviations and product defects, supporting higher quality standards, reduced scrap generation, and improved manufacturing efficiency. In parallel, a comprehensive process optimization program has delivered a 17.4% reduction in specific energy consumption compared with 2021, contributing to lower environmental impact and more sustainable production. Ongoing investments in new equipment, capacity expansion, and increased adoption of certified recycled copper are expected to further improve operational performance while supporting the long-term reliability and lifetime performance of transformer windings
