From Grid Visibility to Dynamic Grid Model Integrity: Building AI to Transform Distribution Network Models into a Foundation for Grid Reliability and Resilience

As distribution networks grow increasingly complex, utilities need accurate, continuously updated grid models to improve reliability, resilience, and operational efficiency. This presentation explores how Sensewaves combines AI, physics-based modeling, and existing GIS, AMI, and SCADA data to achieve Dynamic Grid Model Integrity (DGMI). Drawing on real-world deployments across Europe and the US, already covering millions of smart meters, we demonstrate how this approach improves grid visibility, planning, outage management, and asset optimization at scale. By leveraging existing infrastructure without additional hardware, utilities can reduce costs, optimize investments, and accelerate grid modernization.
