Walcher presents Longitudinal regulators / voltage regulators for low-voltage distribution networks.

Voltage regulators for low-voltage grids are used to stabilise voltage. They regulate voltage using step-down transformers. Walcher has decades of experience in the manufacture and design of voltage regulators. The first voltage regulator was developed and successfully deployed as early as 1959.

Due to the constantly growing number of decentralised PV systems and wind turbines feeding into the medium- and low-voltage grids, the networks must be continuously adapted to the new voltage conditions. Added to this is the expansion of electromobility and the increasing number of heat pumps, which present new challenges for the electricity grids.

From the perspective of lower investment costs, the voltage regulator has proven itself for decades as an alternative to the construction of a new medium-voltage line including a substation, and has established itself as a tried-and-tested piece of equipment among grid operators.

Cross-network controllers, also known as mesh current controllers, are used to shift power to neighbouring branches in meshed networks in order to protect lines from overload.

With over 65 years of experience and high-quality systems (DIN EN ISO 9001:2015), Walcher has established itself on the market as a manufacturer of innovative solutions for network operators.
