Eriselda Malaj
Eriselda Malaj is the IT Director at OSHEE (Electricity Distribution System Operator), where she is responsible for leading the organization's information technology strategy, digital transformation initiatives, cybersecurity, enterprise architecture, and the development of secure and resilient IT infrastructure. In this role, she oversees the planning, implementation, and management of innovative digital solutions that support critical business operations, improve operational efficiency, and strengthen information security across the organization.
Alongside her professional career, Eriselda Malaj is actively engaged in academic research in the fields of digital systems, hardware security, VLSI design, embedded systems, and secure communication circuits. Her research focuses on the design, implementation, and evaluation of hardware logic encryption techniques, including XOR/XNOR-, multiplexer (MUX)-, and flip-flop-based encryption methods for protecting integrated circuits against reverse engineering, intellectual property piracy, hardware Trojans, and unauthorized access. Her work also investigates logic locking methodologies, FPGA- and ASIC-based implementations, cryptographic hardware architectures, and the assessment of hardware security using metrics such as corruption factors, secrecy, resilience, and implementation overhead.
Her broader research interests include hardware security, cybersecurity, digital system design, embedded and IoT security, electronic design automation (EDA), secure communication systems, and critical infrastructure protection. Through her work in both industry and academia, she is committed to bridging research and practical implementation by developing innovative, secure, and reliable technologies for next-generation electronic and communication systems.
Eriselda Malaj has authored and co-authored scientific publications in the areas of hardware security and digital systems and continues to contribute to research on secure hardware architectures and advanced cybersecurity solutions. She is dedicated to promoting technological innovation and excellence in both academic research and industrial practice.
