Computer-Aided Design of Gaps and Terminations in High Voltage Applications: Leveraging API and Optimization Tools

Designing high-voltage components requires careful control of electric field distribution to avoid localized breakdowns and ensure long-term reliability. A critical aspect of this process is the geometric shaping of electrodes and insulators to achieve optimal electric field (stress) profiles. Traditional approaches, such as using Rogowski and Borda profiles, have been used to minimize electric field concentrations. In this presentation, we explore how computer-aided design, simulation tools, and APIs can help improve the design of high-voltage components.
